Drawing and Specification Review
Before production, key requirements are reviewed to reduce batch issues caused by incomplete drawings, unit mistakes, wrong revisions or structure misunderstanding.
Dimensions affecting assembly, function and safety are marked as critical, such as hole spacing, fit dimensions, bending angles, tube center distance, weld location and assembly clearance.
Incoming Material Inspection
Confirm carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized steel and other materials match the order.
Check sheet thickness, tube diameter, wall thickness, width and length.
Check rust, scratches, dents, deformation, oil stains and surface defects.
Identify and separate materials by order, batch and production requirements.
Material certificates can be reviewed or provided when required and available.
First Article Inspection
Before mass production, the first completed part is checked against the drawing, sample and functional requirements. Production continues after key dimensions and structures are confirmed.
In-process Inspection
Profile, cutting size, holes, edge quality, burrs, burn marks and deformation.
Bending angle, direction, edge length, multi-bend relationship, cracks, dents and springback.
Tube diameter, wall thickness, cut length, bend angle, radius, hole direction and end form.
Weld location, continuity, missing welds, weak welds, burn-through, undercut, spatter and post-weld dimensions.
Welding and Structural Inspection
Check weld uniformity, missing welds, visible pores, cracks, spatter or burn-through.
Check whether welding distortion affects holes, flatness, perpendicularity and overall dimensions.
Trial assembly, screw locking, insertion, rotation, support or fit checks according to application.
Load, pull or other functional tests can be arranged according to the product structure and customer requirements.
Surface Finish Inspection
Color, gloss, sagging, particles, scratches, exposed base and visible color difference.
Edges, holes, welds, inner corners and hard-to-coat areas.
Adhesion or related checks according to finish type and order requirements.
Salt spray or corrosion-resistance testing is arranged according to material, finish and customer requirements.
Final Dimensional and Assembly Inspection
Use calipers, height gauges and angle tools to measure dimensions, holes, bending angles and flatness.
Simple gauges, fixtures or templates can be made when needed to confirm key assembly dimensions.
Use matching parts to verify hole positions, clearances, threads and installation relationship.
Common Inspection Items
Non-conforming Product Control
When a non-conformity is identified, affected parts are marked and separated before further handling. Rework, replacement or corrective action is determined according to the issue.
Inspection Records and Documents
Inspection records, material certificates and third-party reports can be provided according to project requirements and actual availability.
Packaging and Pre-shipment Inspection
Check product quantity against order and packing requirements.
